Creating positive change, together.

We fund youth-serving programs that focus on education, promoting equality and social progress, and improving the health of our communities.

Grantmaking Process

Building partnerships across Massachusetts

The Foundation currently does not accept unsolicited applications, but we invite 501c3 nonprofit organizations to contact Vanessa to schedule a time to connect.

Grant sizes vary but are typically in the $5,000 to$20,000 range. Currently, grants are made to 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations with annual operating budgets under $2.5 million that provide direct services to youth, girls and women in Massachusetts. The Foundation understands the importance of unrestricted funding so, unless you indicate otherwise, grants will be awarded to support General Operations.

Our hope if the funding request will not be burdensome to the organizations applying. We ask that you please do not submit a proposal without an invitation from the Foundation.

If your 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that is based in, or doing work in, Massachusetts fits our scope, start a conversation with us.

Our model

Why trust-based philanthropy

We believe a strong relationship with our nonprofit partners is at the core of our work, and that shifting the power and responsibility burden is essential in a more equitable path forward. Our team dedicates time to researching and learning about prospective partner organizations and volunteering or seeing their programs in action.

We invite feedback from partners on how we can help meet their current needs and help them through their challenges.

We believe that our staff needs to be

Flexible
Responsive
Accountable
Transparent

to adapt to the changing needs of our communities.
